We're committed to leading the fight against climate change. Not only by reducing our carbon emissions, but also by being a positive example to our industry.

That's why we've set ourselves challenging Climate Commitments to slash the amount of carbon dioxide we produce. And that's why we're constantly developing products and services to help our customers reduce their own carbon footprints.

We're also moving as quickly as we can to low or zero CO₂ energy production. Following our purchase of British Energy, we plan to develop four European pressurized reactors and combined with our experience in renewable energy, it means we'll be able to supply even more clean, secure and affordable energy to the UK.

What we’re doing now

Through our Green Fund we've already given £3.2 million to more than 180 renewable and clean energy projects around the UK. We've also developed an educational programme, to help children and their teachers make their schools more sustainable and energy efficient.
